(3 out of 5) ★★★
We found ourselves in midtown on a Sunday before 11am and wanted to go for a quick bite to eat at a dairy restaurant. We headed over to Café K and ordered off of the breakfast menu. The place was empty with only several couples scattered throughout the restaurant. The restaurant looked like it went through a recent face-lift, but the breakfast menu could use one as well.
We ordered the Greek Omelette which comes with two eggs, onions, black olives, green olives and feta cheese served with chopped salad and whole wheat toasted bread with jam and butter and coffee or tea. The best part of the omelette was the salad. The “whole wheat toasted bread” is the normal bread they serve to customers, so I’m not a big fan of them advertising it in relation to the omelette. The omelette was mediocre at best and would definitely not be my first choice if we ended up there again for brunch.

The hubby ordered Shakshuka which consisted of three eggs sunny-side up cooked in tomato salsa sauce and served with chopped salad. The Shakshuka was good, but not the best he’s ever had.
Café K used to be my go-to place for ordering lunch to the office and quick dinners with friends in the area. But in recent years I tend to favor other places within the delivery free radius.
