I have a love hate relationship with Noi Due, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. We love the food at Noi Due but we hate their no reservation policy – which usually requires you to wait for thirty to forty-five minutes for a table. We decided to stop by on a lazy Sunday for brunch hoping for the best but not expecting much. We had a back-up plan that we would go to My Most Favorite Food if it didn’t work out. We were pleasantly surprised that we did not have to wait for a table.
The tables are packed closely to one another and you find yourself eavesdropping on your neighbor’s conversation and they yours. But if you can set aside the couple sitting next to you on their third or fourth date and focus on the food in front of you then it’s not a bad place to grab a bite to eat.
We were in the mood for soups. I prefer soups that aren’t too sweet so I went with the pea soup and the hubby went with the butternut squash soup. We were happy with our choices and devoured it all.
For the main dish, I ordered the Mediterranean salad while hubby ordered salmon burger that came with fries. Both were delicious and finished on the spot. The food was great and the service was good. We would go back again if we were guaranteed that we wouldn’t have to wait otherwise we probably will not be back there for a while.
